Hey Gorgeous? Bleh

Before I sign off for the night, my 2 silly cents worth on that variety (or non-variety) programme on Channel U bearing the same title as this topic......

Distasteful in celebration of the much "famed" phrase that beauty is but skin deep. For those who don't know about this show already, a brief synopsis (not an appetizer but more of a warning label, not unless you indulge in typical local production that seems to have suspicious resemblance to some Taiwanese equivalent).

Step 1: Grab half a dozen boys and girls from their tertiary educational institutions
Step 2: Throw them onto the beach for some meaning-less games hosted by the shameless, answering questions that are pointless to show the contestants are brainless.
Step 3: Have them run around wincing and begging for some innocent beach-goer to part with the very body-garment they are wearing ranging from bikini tops to speedoes....before some supposedly chooses for the best piece out of the totalled bounty.

I mean fine, lotsa eye candy on parade but just about it. The participants (erm tertiary students) can actually get questions locality (highest hill in Singapore?) and basic geography (capital of Italy?) wrong?!?! I for one never knew Vienna exist in Italy, not in my world. Proud leaders of tomorrow? ....*shudder*

Can't derive much entertainment from that, pardon me but is this a generation gap issue or is "the next generation" an issue. Pretty face for an express ticket to possible stardom or at worst 30mins of fame and a shot at being a momentary wonder or public service as a google-box jester......
